OpenVMS Juni 2016 Roadmap
30.6.2016 - VMSSoftware Inc. (VSI) aktualisiert die OpenVMS Roadmap.
Seit Kurzem ist die Juni 2016 Roadmap auf der Homepage von VSI verfügbar.
Sie finden darin den aktuellen Releaseplan sowie erste Details für die nächste OpenVMS Release 8.4-2L1. Äußerst wichtig erscheint uns dabei der Update auf OpenSSL 1.0.2h.

VSI OpenVMS Alpha Evaluation Kit verfügbar
11.4.2016 - VMS Software, Inc. (VSI) hat bietet ab sofort einen VSI OpenVMS for Alpha Evaluation Kit an
“Now that we have released two new versions of VSI OpenVMS on the HPE Integrity hardware platform, we want to bring similar upgrades to Alpha hardware users,” so Duane P. Harris, CEO von VSI. “This evaluation kit will solicit feedback from Alpha users, and help us plan for a future Alpha production release.”
Der VSI OpenVMS for Alpha Evaluation Kit ist für ein breites Zielpublikum gedacht. Die Akzeptanz und Beurteilung des Kits wird eine Schlüsselfaktor für VSI in der Entscheidung, zukünftig auch OpenVMS Releases für Alpha anzubieten. Sollte die Entscheidung zur Weiterentwicklung auf Alpha fallen, wird es selbstverständlich auch auf dieser Plattform die traditionellen Field Tests und Release-Zyklen geben.

OpenVMS 8.4-2 Maynard verfügbar
30.3.2016 - VMS Software, Inc. (VSI) hat am 22. März die weltweite Verfügbarkeit von OpenVMS 8.4-2 (Maynard Release) für HPE Integrity Server bekanntgegeben.
OpenVMS Maynard ist somit die zweite Release von VSI OpenVMS. Die neue Version läuft auf Intel® Itanium® basierten Server Systemen von HPE. VSI hat neuerlich bestätigt, daß OpenVMS in einer zukünftigen Release auch auf x86 basierten Systemen verfügbar sein wird.
"This second release reaffirms our long-term commitment to the OpenVMS platform, and builds upon our highly successful first release of OpenVMS in June of 2015," so Duane P. Harris, CEO von VMS Software. "It is the first of many exciting improvements planned for OpenVMS, including future updates to the file system, TCP/IP, and other major improvements that we look forward to sharing with our customers as we work our way through the planned roadmap."

Field-Tests für OpenVMS 8.4-2 auf der Zielgeraden
22.2.2016 - VMS Software Inc. (VSI) ist mit den Field-Tests für die neue Release von OpenVMS 8.4-2 auf der Zielgeraden.
Gemeinsam mit 42 externen Testern aus der ganzen Welt wurde die neue Release von OpenVMS ausführlich getestet. VSI erntete dabei überaus positives Feedback:
I just have to complement VSI on the field test of OpenVMS E8.4-2. I have been testing our security product, System Detective, on the field test for 8.4-2 and it seems to work perfectly. Upwards compatibility has been a big deal in OpenVMS since the beginning and VSI is keeping it up. Many thanks to the folks at VSI.
