VSI OpenVMS V9.2-3 für x86_64
20.11.2024 - Mit dem heutigen Tag stellt VMS Software, Inc. (VSI) OpenVMS V9.2-3 für x86-64 zur Verfügung.
OpenVMS V9.2 läuft auf Intel basierter Hardware, kann aber auch auf folgende Emulatoren installiert werden:
- Oracle VM VirtualBox
- KVM
- VMware hypervisors
In der Release V9.2-3 finden sich neben zahlreichen Bugfixes auch folgende neuen Funktionen:
- VMware VMDirectPath for Fibre Channel Passthrough Support
- VMware vMotion support
- Guest Console
- Automatic configuration and startup of TCP/IP and OpenSSH
- Virtio-Net Network Driver
- VMXNET3 Network Driver
- Availability Manager Data Collector
- ACME Agent
- New Versions of built-in products:
- TCP/IP V6.0-26
- SSL3 V3.0-15
- OpenSSH V8.9-1J

VSI OpenVMS V8.4-2L3 für Integrity
8.4.2021 - Mit dem heutigen Tag stellt VMS Software, Inc. (VSI) dieVersion V8.4-2L3 OpenVMS für die Integrity Plattform zur Verfügung.
Die neue Release von OpenVMS kommt neben zahlreichen Bugfixes mit einigen New Features:
- Support für die HPE Smart Array P411 Controller
- OpenSSL V1.1-1IA: Der neue V1.1-1K Kit muss als Patch nach V8.4.-2L3 installiert werden
- Boot Support für Drives auf P441 und 16GBit HBAs
Weiters gilt es zu beachten:
- V8.4-2L3 ist binärkompatibel mit allen vorherigen Versionen von VSI OpenVMS (beginnend mit 8.4-1H1)
- Der Standard Support von OpenVMS V8.4-1H1 und V8.4-2 endet am 31. Dezember 2022.
- Der Standard Support von OpenVMS V8.4-2L1 endet am 31. Dezember 2024.
- V8.4-2L3 ist das sogannente "Launch Pad" für alle weiteren OpenVMS Features auf der Itanium Plattform.
- Das direkte Upgrade von HPE OpenVMS V8.4 ist möglich.

VSI OpenVMS V8.4-2L2 für Alpha
16.7.2017 - Mehr Performance für die Alpha! VMSsoftware Inc. (VSI) hat die Release 8.4-2L2 für die Alpha Plattform herausgebracht.
Diese Release bringt Optimierungen für die CPUs EV6 und höher.
“Depending on the specific CPU and operating system features a customer’s application uses, the new Alpha V8.4-2L2 release could render performance improvements of between 15% and 50%. We have also observed RMS image sizes reduced by more than 270 blocks, due to more efficient code generation,” betont Eddie Orcutt, VP Software Engineering of VMS Software, Inc.
Ansonsten ist diese Release funktional ident mit 8.4-2L1.
